Undergoing a sixmonth makeover has been an interesting experience for Theresa Charbonneau – more interesting than she imagined when we started the process back in March.
“Everybody, even people I don’t know, come up to me and say ‘Oh My God. You look awesome. We’ve been following your story from the beginning,’” she told me Thursday afternoon.
Those who haven’t had the pleasure of an up-close-andpersonal encounter are always emailing me for updates, and we’re happy to oblige.
That’s why we were back at Coral Medical Spa Thursday. We wanted to see the results of Theresa’s most recent procedures, which included Juvederm and Teosyal fillers, along with Botox injections.
Dr. Zoia Sherman, who administered both procedures, also wanted to do a followup to determine if any “tweaking” was in order. (It was, and Theresa will have some more fillers Aug. 11 to give some extra lift on her “sleep side.”)
For me, the transformation that came from the fillers and Botox was astonishing. For medical esthetician Jena Campeau, who has done Theresa’s three laser resurfacings and two IPL treatments, it was just as amazing.
“I haven’t seen you since June 23, and you’re freaking me out,” she told Theresa. “You look more youthful, your skin is glowing, your face is lifted, there’s a big texture change and the redness is reduced. You look 10 years younger.”
And, said Jena, “she’s smiling. “
(We want to assure you that Theresa does, indeed, smile all the time, and we’ve got the pictures to prove it. It’s just that we keep taking serious “mug” shots to keep our photo comparisons consistent.)
I even asked Star photographer Dax Melmer what he thought. Dax has taken every picture of Theresa since Day 1, and nobody has zoomed in closer than he has.
A man of few words, Dax described it this way: “I dunno how to say it. She has a smoothness and a shine to her face. There’s a lift. It’s just really noticeable.”
We all agreed the biggest difference was in the eye area, followed by the upper cheek.
Fillers can take a month or more to reach maximum effectiveness, so it will be midSeptember before we’re ready for the ultimate big reveal.
What Theresa notices most at this stage is how smooth and clean her face feels.
“It doesn’t take any work to keep my face feeling fresh,” she says. “I can see that the lines are softened and the texture has improved.”
And her husband, Mike? “People keep teasing him that I’m going to leave him and find a younger man. I tell him ‘I’m just trying to look as young as you.’”
She’s succeeding. Stay tuned.
